Additional Information | 1860s Hunterfly Road House, 1702 Bergen Street. The small bone or ivory crochet hooks were discovered behind the mantelpiece of this house by Tom Paske. Books depicted are 'A Key to Uncle Tom's Cabin', by Harriet Beecher Stowe (1899 edition, id ref 2004.13.10) and 'Sesame and Lilies' by John Ruskin (id ref 2006.151.01). This second book is inscribed "To Hattie, from Helen". It consists of a collection of lectures from the 1860s on the roles of men and women in society. |
